Physical Therapists

If you are a physical therapist, you must initiate the licensing process for the state of intended employment, including applying and meeting state requirements. You will need to take and pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE). Once you meet all the application requirements for the state of intended employment, you can register to take the NPTE.

Eligibility for physical therapists includes:
  • Successful completion of equivalent educational standards required of U.S.-educated physical therapists based on transcripts from source institutions
  • A license to practice in the state of intended employment
  • Strong communication skills, including comprehension, speaking, and writing
  • Successful completion and passing of the required English tests
  • A desire to live in the United States and to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
